Evolution Featured on Dutch National Television

Our Netherlands team appeared in Bouwen aan de Toekomst, a national programme on SBS6 to share what integrated security looks like in practice.

On Saturday 6 June 2026, Evolution was featured in Bouwen aan de Toekomst – a programme broadcast on SBS6, one of the Netherlands’ leading national television channels exploring how technology is shaping the future of building security and management.

Filmed at our Hillegom office in the Netherlands, the segment gave our team the opportunity to talk openly about the work we do, why we do it differently, and what the future of integrated security looks like for organisations operating across multiple sites and countries.

Integrated security beyond CCTV and access control

The segment opened with a question that sits at the heart of what we do: what does modern security mean? The answer, as our team explained, is that security systems have moved well beyond standalone cameras or simple access passes. Today, the most effective solutions link previously separate systems CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, visitor management into a single, intelligently integrated platform.

That integration extends further still. By connecting security infrastructure with building management systems, organisations can apply energy management, occupancy monitoring, and operational controls through the same platform. The result is a building that is not just more secure, but smarter and more efficiently run.

Data centre security systems and layered protection from perimeter to server

The programme explored data centre security as a practical example of layered integration in action. Protecting a data centre is a series of concentric layers, each designed to detect and respond to threats before they reach the most critical point: the servers themselves.

By combining perimeter protection, camera surveillance, and access control systems that communicate with one another, our team can ensure that a security alert is generated at the earliest possible stage long before any threat reaches the infrastructure it is designed to protect.

Designing and delivering security systems integration across multiple countries

One of the subjects covered in the broadcast was the complexity of delivering security projects across different countries. Privacy legislation, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements vary significantly across borders. A system designed for the Netherlands cannot simply be replicated in Germany, France, or the United States.

Evolution operates across the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Italy and the USA, which means our international teams design solutions that are compliant, contextually appropriate, and technically sound in every market they serve. That breadth of experience, and the cross-border knowledge that comes with it, is something we consider a genuine differentiator.

Why employee ownership matters in the security industry

Perhaps the most distinctive element of the broadcast was the conversation around employee ownership. Evolution operates as an Employee Ownership Trust which means the team are not just employees, but co-owners of the business.

In practice, that means motivated people who are genuinely invested in the outcome of every project, every service visit, and every client relationship. When the success of the business is your success too, the standard of work you deliver is both professional and personal. That culture is visible in everything we do, and it was something our Netherlands team were proud to talk about on a national platform.

Remote monitoring, maintenance and security support

The broadcast also covered what happens when something goes wrong. Behind every fault report is a structured process: logging the issue, analysing the fault remotely where technology allows, sourcing materials, and deploying a qualified engineer to site when a physical intervention is required.

Technology now makes it possible to investigate a client’s system remotely and resolve many issues without the need for an engineer visit. Where that is not possible, our engineers arrive on site fully prepared, informed, equipped, and ready to resolve the problem decisively. Security, in other words, is not just installed. It is actively managed and continuously improved.

Compliance, security industry accreditations and engineer training in a fast-moving world

Technology in the security sector evolves rapidly. The systems available today are fundamentally different from those installed five years ago, and the pace of change shows no sign of slowing. Keeping engineers trained, certified, and current is essential to delivering the standard of service our clients expect.

Evolution invests significantly in engineer training across all our markets, supported by accreditations including NSI Gold, ISO 27001, PSA, and BAFE to name a few. Our engineers not only know the systems, they understand the environments in which those systems operate.
