Having left Knockhill only 2 weeks ago, the varying weather conditions appeared to follow the TOCA package to Derby, where the Porsche Carrera Cup undertook rounds 11 and 12 of a 16-race season at Donington Park. However, the changing circumstances didn’t halt Josh’s hunt for a 2nd Pro-Am podium of the season.

In the free practices leading up to the main races, Josh set a 1:29:311, putting him 0.276 seconds off the session leader of the Pro-Am classification. The JTR (Joe Tandy Racing) prepared 911 GT3 qualified in 5th position for race 1.

Donington Park GP was a weekend of two halves for Josh Stanton, as a race 1 incident took #95 from battling for 3rd to finishing P6. The offending driver was penalised and Josh was determined to fight forward later in the afternoon. In race 2, after fighting through the competitive grid from 6th to 3rd Stanton matched his previous round’s success as he left with 3rd place in the Pro-Am classification.

“It’s great to finish the weekend on a high with another podium at Donington Park!

“Race 1 was wet and threw us challenging conditions, but our pace was great. While making a move for 3rd place I was taken out. Which is absolutely gutting, especially after a strong race to the front.

“During race 2 we fought through from 6th to 3rd, and after some crazy racing, managed to hold P3 and reach the chequered flag.”

Josh’s season is supported by Evolution Security, Grayson Pace 59 (GP59), Autobrite Direct, and Porsche Centre Tewkesbury, who have enjoyed race weekend hospitality throughout the 2023 season.

“I owe a huge thanks to Evolution Security, Grayson Pace 59, Autobrite, Porsche Tewksbury, and Puffin Solutions for your support! Also to the guys behind the scenes, Adam and JTR, for a brilliant car all weekend.

“I can’t wait to see what Silverstone has in store for us.”

The remaining Porsche Carrera Cup calendar includes Silverstone National (23rd & 24th September) and the season finale at Brands Hatch GP (7th & 8th October).
