The Evolution Team
Richard began his career in the electronic security industry in 1982 rising to Director-level prior to co-founding Evolution in 1996. When Richard is not thinking about work his passion is classic cars. Richard has spent several years ‘Historic Racing’ in a 1973 Lancia Fulvia and he has also built a hot-rod over 11 years. Richard’s boy hood dream is finally realised as he is now the proud owner of a Jensen Interceptor.
John originally trained as an electrician and started in the security industry in 1980 as an installation engineer rising through the ranks to General Manager prior to converting to a sales career. Seven years later he co-founded Evolution in 1996 with Richard. Outside of work John has played in bands since he was 14 years old and is still playing. He has a collection of guitars….and also a few motorbikes.
GROUP Operations Director
Neil joined Evolution in 1998 as Operations Manager and he is now Group Operations Director, responsible for the largest headcount at Evolution! Careful and thorough at work, but when not working Neil enjoys flinging himself off mountains with only a flimsy frame and fabric to keep him alive, otherwise known as paragliding.
GROUP TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Derrel started his career in the electronic security industry with Evolution in 2001 as a Service Engineer. He quickly rose through the ranks to become Technical Manager in 2006 UK Technical Director in 2014 and is now Group Technical Director. In his spare time Derrel enjoys running, cycling and fishing to fast cars and more recently fast motorbikes.
head of risk & design
Brendan heads up the Risk and Design division at Evolution and is a Member of the Security Institute and the Association of Security Consultants. Brendan is a physical security, risk and assurance specialist, having worked in the military and with a wide range of FTSE100 clients.
Outside of work, and when not cooking, Brendan enjoys training for the Total Warrior challenge. Brendan also builds stage sets for his local amateur dramatic society where his son is an aspiring Thespian.
HEAD OF service & maintenance
Paul trained originally as an electrician and then moved into the electronic security industry starting out as a trainee rising to a Senior Installation & Senior Service engineer and then finally onto Senior Management level within Evolution. Paul’s passion was football, playing at district level for Heathrow when they were in the Premier Division in the Hayes and District league. Paul now enjoys running half marathons.
head of retail Sales
Philip heads up the Evolution Retail division and has over 20 years’ industry experience in retail security. Philip joined the Evolution team in 2017 and when not working Philip is a rugby coach and safeguarding officer.
GROUP head of finance
Kevin keeps tabs on the finances in Evolution with his finance team in UK and Ireland. A keen motor-racer, Kevin races an historic Mallock with his father but has more recently developed a habit of qualifying well, starting well and being let down by his machinery towards the end, but as they say “that’s historic racing!”
country manager ireland
Mark started out in the Security Industry in 2002 as a trainee engineer and quickly learned the ropes, moving on to become an installation engineer, senior installation engineer and commissioning engineer. Joining Evolution in Ireland in 2013 , Mark is into his gadgets and all things technical. As another petrol-head into cars and more recently motorbikes he says he wouldn't fit in otherwise!
Head of UK Sales
John began his career in the electronic security industry in 1989 as an apprentice engineer. John has worked as an installation and service engineer before joining the Evolution sales team in 1999. Away from and at work, John enjoys a competitive game of golf - who says the customer always has to win!
head of human resources
Louise has been in the security industry for many years and joined the Evolution team in 2019. CIPD and IOSH qualified, Louise overseas the Group’s HR function including recruitment, talent management and strategic workforce planning.
When at home near Cambridge, Louise can be seen negotiating her way round the local golf course having recently taken up the game. She also enjoys watching cricket and coastal walks when the weather permits!
